Phenyl is a versatile term referring primarily to an aromatic, monovalent hydrocarbon functional group, derived from benzene by removing one hydrogen atom. As a chemical disinfectant, it is an emulsion of creosote oil or pine oil, water, and soap, used extensively as a germicide and deodorizer for sanitation in homes, hotels, hospitals, and drains.  

Composition: It is typically an emulsion of light creosote oil, water, and soap. The active germicidal agents are often phenolic compounds or carbolic acid.

White Phenyl: Primarily used for deodorising and light cleaning; often contains pine oil for a pleasant scent.
